Apptronik in Austin, TX seeks Staff People Technology Specialist to lead Workday Payroll configuration and broader People Operations work. You'll partner with leadership, finance, and contributors to ensure the Workday system is effective, compliant, and aligned with company direction.

This role focuses on payroll configuration but touches security, system design, and strategic HR projects to improve processes and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in Workday configuration and maintenance, with two years specifically with Workday Payroll.
• Experience configuring earnings, deductions, tax elements, and pay group setups in Workday.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the Workday Payroll configuration from requirements gathering through testing and deployment.
• Configure and maintain earnings, deductions, tax elements, and pay group setups in Workday Payroll.
• Collaborate with Finance and external payroll/tax vendors to ensure accurate, on-time payroll processing.
• Support payroll compliance including audits, multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
• Document configuration decisions and SOPs for the team.
