Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Irvine seeks a Senior Payroll Analyst to optimize and troubleshoot the Workday payroll environment, including Absence Management and Time Tracking, while ensuring regulatory compliance across the US.

You will partner with HR and Accounting, support payroll processing, and lead testing for feature releases; strong analytical, communication, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience
• In-depth knowledge of multi-state and local payroll regulations
• Experience with Workday components: Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, OSV Atmosphere
• Proficient MS Office; mid-level Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Hybrid work arrangement with in-office four days per week in Irvine

Responsibilities

• Maintain Workday Payroll and Absence Management configurations and updates
• Audit tax configurations for CA and WA and ensure data accuracy
• Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends and issues
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting; provide end-user training on payroll features
• Lead bi-annual Workday Payroll and Absence feature release testing
• Back up payroll processing as needed, ensure SOX compliance
• Prepare bi-weekly payroll funding and reconciliation between Workday and OSV Atmosphere
