Job summary

Essex is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst in Irvine, CA to provide expert analysis, configure enhancements, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure optimal Workday payroll and absence management functionality. You will partner with cross-functional HR leaders to develop and maintain our payroll processes and coordinate with third-party vendors.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, deep knowledge of US payroll regulations, and hands-on Workday experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with hands-on payroll systems administration.
• In-depth knowledge of US multi-state payroll regulations and compliance.
• Experience with Workday components: Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, OSV Atmosphere.
• Strong MS Excel skills (mid-level) with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and configure Workday Payroll and absence management settings.
• Audit and ensure tax configuration accuracy for California and Washington.
• Generate payroll reports; troubleshoot complex processing issues.
• Provide training and documentation for payroll processes.
• Lead bi-annual Workday Payroll/Absence testing and releases.
• Act as a backup to payroll processing as needed.
