Job summary

Jobtailor in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Work Zone Traffic Control Engineer to support management of transportation construction projects, develop traffic management plans, signing plans, and PMP designs.

You will mentor junior staff, aid business development, manage tasks, budgets, and schedules, and coordinate with clients and subconsultants. The role requires 11–15 years of relevant experience and a NC PE license, with strong MUTCD/AASHTO knowledge and ORD/MicroStation proficiency.

Qualifications

• 11-15 years relevant experience with minimum 6 years delivering NCDOT Traffic Management, Signing, and Pavement Marking Plan (PMP) projects with examples of signed/sealed plans
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in NC
• Working knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO, and NCDOT Standards, Specifications and Guidelines

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of projects and develop traffic management plans, signing plans, and PMP plans, specs, provisions, and reports
• Mentor and train younger staff; assist with business development; manage tasks, budgets, scopes, schedules; coordinate with clients and subconsultants
• Participate in planning and design of transportation projects; identify problems and solutions
