Job summary

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Work and Family Life Supervisor to lead the Fleet and Family Support Center at Naval Air Station Oceana.

The role directs Work and Family Life services, manages staff, and aligns programs with DoD guidance, ensuring quality service delivery and customer support. Strong leadership and collaboration across agencies are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of specialized experience in managing WFL or QOL programs with the DoD
• Knowledge of the Navy organization, mission, culture and ability to evaluate needs and performance
• Experience with education and training delivery for WFL trainings/workshops
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to network with diverse groups
• Ability to interview clients to assess concerns and refer services
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint for materials and reports

Responsibilities

• Supervises WFL staff, assigns workload and conducts performance evaluations.
• Organizes workflow and monitors staffing and leave to ensure mission continuity.
• Monitors progress and prepares metrics and reports; maintains relationships with customers.
• Applies concepts to analyze social and behavioral data to assess WFL needs.
• Collaborates with FFSC Director on policy interpretation and implementation.
• Represents FFSC at conferences and coordinates with Navy and civilian agencies.
