GEM Technologies, Inc. seeks a Sr. Work Control Planner to support LANL in Los Alamos, NM.

This full-time role focuses on planning, coordinating, and controlling complex maintenance activities in specialized facilities. You will develop work packages, assess time and material requirements, and lead risk mitigation through LOTO, permits, and isolation procedures. Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineers, and facility staff while ensuring adherence to safety, security, and governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship due to the federal nature of the work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
• Extensive experience with work control, planning, materials management and maintenance in complex facilities.
• Strong knowledge of work hazards, safety practices, LOTO procedures.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Experience using computerized work management systems to track planning activities.
• Proven ability to research complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Support work control and work package development for complex activities.
• Prepare, review, and issue modification, maintenance work packages.
• Analyze time and material requirements for complex activities.
• Prepare detailed material specifications and labor estimates.
• Lead development of step-by-step work instructions for complex activities.
• Manage and expedite established work package priorities.
• Develop isolation, containment, and de-energization instructions.
• Develop and manage permits, testing requirements, documentation, records, and training requirements.
• Ensure work control activities comply with procedures, regulations, and governance requirements.
• Ensure work control results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality standards.
• Conduct research and propose alternative solutions to planning problems.
• Prepare and present work control reports.
• Communicate requirements to technical and non-technical personnel.
• Provide direction to maintenance, operations support, and clerical staff.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations management, engineers, technicians, and facility personnel.
• Maintain compliance with safety and security requirements.
• Identify and stop work when conditions are unsafe or security risks may be present.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
