Job summary

Focus Digital is seeking a hands-on Web Developer to own the development, publishing, performance, and technical optimization of client sites. The role focuses on WordPress with Elementor/Divi, Shopify stores, and modern frontend stacks such as React, Next.js, and Astro.

You will turn briefs into fast, conversion-focused pages, ensuring accessibility and performance while guiding AI tools. Collaboration with content strategists and project managers is essential for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on web development experience.
• Strong WordPress experience: ACF, theme edits, custom templates, page builders.
• Shopify experience with Liquid and JSON, or ability to ramp up quickly on a new stack.
• Portfolio of live sites with links.
• Solid design and UX judgment.
• Working knowledge of performance optimization and Core Web Vitals.
• Working knowledge of SEO implementation and GA4/Search Console basics.
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly to accelerate work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain WordPress sites with ACF, custom templates and page builders.
• Build Shopify pages and theme changes using Liquid and JSON.
• Develop custom HTML, CSS, JavaScript pages with React, Next.js and Astro.
• Improve performance: Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, image optimization.
• Implement on-page SEO with titles, meta, schema and JSON-LD.
• Configure analytics via GA4, Google Search Console and GTM.
• QA: ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate with content strategists and project managers.
