Job summary

Washington Trust Bank seeks a senior risk and compliance leader to manage the WMAS fiduciary, risk, and compliance oversight framework with enterprise-wide impact. You will coordinate risk assessments, consolidate findings, and report to executives, committees, and auditors.

The role requires a deep background in fiduciary risk, banking regulations, and governance, with leadership over junior staff and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• College degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Law, or related field and 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience, including supervisory, risk management, compliance oversight, audit, regulatory response, fiduciary governance, issue remediation, or senior committee reporting responsibilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional experience in fiduciary administration, trust services, investment management, risk management, audit, compliance, operations, regulatory response, or quality assurance, with CFIRS, CTFA, CRCM, CERP, CIA, or similar designation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fiduciary risk management, trust administration, investment management, banking regulations, internal controls, audit and examination processes, issue remediation, vendor oversight, governance practices, regulatory expectations, management reporting, and enterprise risk management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Leads the administration and continuous improvement of the WMAS fiduciary, risk, and compliance oversight framework.
• Coordinates periodic WMAS risk assessments and maintains documentation of risk categories, inherent risk, control effectiveness, residual risk, and KRIs.
• Aggregates and analyzes risk information from compliance testing, audit findings, incidents, fiduciary reviews, and regulatory developments to identify themes and control implications.
• Prepares and presents consolidated risk reports, dashboards, committee materials, and management updates.
