Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, CA, seeks a Wiring Infrastructure Lead Engineer to head the Communications Cabling Team within the IT Infrastructure group. You will coordinate daily assignments, plan cabling installations, and ensure documentation and safety standards across inside and outside plant projects.
The role requires extensive experience with copper/fiber cabling, CAD drawings, and cross-functional collaboration with scientists and engineers.
Competenze
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of knowledge in communications cabling and infrastructure.
- Experience with copper and fiber cable properties and plant infrastructure drawings.
- Ability to install, configure and operate equipment and software used to test copper and fiber cabling.
- Knowledge of data communications concepts and building/venue infrastructure standards.
Mansioni
- Lead the Communications Cabling Team, coordinating daily assignments and customer inquiries.
- Conceive, plan and implement approaches for inside and outside plant cabling installations.
- Train staff on proper cabling techniques and documentation for each work order.
- Provide cost estimates for copper/fiber cabling projects and ensure safety requirements are met.
