Silicon Labs is seeking a Senior/Associate Staff Wireless Embedded Software Engineer to develop foundational embedded software for low-power wireless MCUs and SDKs. You will own features end-to-end, from requirements through release, and work closely with firmware, silicon, systems, and test teams to deliver reliable, power-efficient wireless products.

This role emphasizes hardware-software collaboration, real-time constraints, and debugging across borders.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of embedded software/firmware development.
• Strong programming in Embedded C/C++.
• Experience with microcontrollers in resource-constrained, real-time environments.
• Hands-on debugging at hardware/software boundary (JTAG/SWD, scopes, logic analyzers).
• Experience with device drivers, interrupts, peripherals, timing-sensitive code.
• Experience from design to release of features.
• Exposure to AI-powered tooling for development, testing, or automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for low-power wireless MCUs and SDKs.
• Own features from requirements to release and long-term support.
• Build and enhance low-level firmware components like drivers and startup code.
• Optimize for performance, power, and memory in real-time systems.
• Debug across software, firmware, hardware, and system boundaries using lab tools.
• Collaborate with hardware, silicon, systems, and product teams to define requirements.
• Contribute to automated testing, validation, and tooling.
• Mentor engineers through code and design reviews.
