Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Senior Windows Systems Engineer to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise Windows infrastructure across a complex IT environment in Raleigh, NC.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Microsoft server experience, strong AD/GP, PowerShell, SharePoint and SQL Server skills, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, security-aware setting. This is a full-time onsite role with expectations for leadership and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Windows Server administration.
• 4+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong Active Directory and Group Policy expertise.
• Experience with Windows Server in large-scale environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and core Microsoft technologies.
• Administer enterprise file services, permissions, DFS, and data governance.
• Maintain and secure SharePoint environments and SQL Server instances.
• Lead upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and modernization efforts.
• Create documentation, runbooks, and knowledge resources.
• Mentor junior team members and participate in governance best practices.
