Job summary

CSX Corporation is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and support enterprise Windows Server platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will drive patching, security hardening, and lifecycle management to ensure currency and resilience.

You will automate provisioning and configurations with PowerShell, Ansible, and IaC, collaborating with cloud, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams. Background checks will be conducted during tenure.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 in enterprise settings.
• Develop and maintain secure, hardened Windows Server baselines and images.
• Experience coordinating patching, lifecycle management, and platform currency.
• Familiarity with Azure IaaS and VMware-based hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, maintain, and support enterprise Windows Server platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Design and implement secure, highly available Windows Server infrastructure aligned with security standards.
• Lead OS lifecycle management: currency, upgrades, migrations, decommissioning.
• Develop automated provisioning, configuration management, and workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, and IaC.
• Establish and maintain standard Windows configurations and security baselines.
• Plan and execute patching for currency, security, and stability.
• Analyze vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation with cybersecurity teams.
• Implement identity, access management, and privileged access controls.
• Monitor health, performance, and capacity to meet SLAs.
• Investigate complex platform issues and act as escalation resource.
• Develop standards, procedures, architecture docs, and recovery plans.
• Support DR, backup, and cyber resiliency initiatives for Windows infra.
• Evaluate emerging tech and recommend platform improvements.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, networking, and automation teams.
• Ensure solutions comply with security policies and governance.
