Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Senior Windows Systems Administrator in Columbia, MD to build, secure, and sustain Windows Server estate and Windows 11 workstations across multiple classified networks. The role requires on-site work Monday through Friday at the Columbia facility.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of Windows admin experience in DoD/classified environments, deep AD/PowerShell skills, and RMF/STIG compliance expertise, with experience patching air-gapped enclaves.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (required).
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of Windows systems and network administration in DoD/classified environments.
• Deep Windows Server admin and AD DS expertise (2016–2022).
• Scripting and automation with PowerShell and desired-state config.

Responsibilities

• Administer and sustain Windows Server (2016–2022) and Windows 11 workstations across isolated classified networks.
• Provide end-user support for classified Windows environments, applications, and hardware.
• Administer AD DS: GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS, ADCS, sites and replication, trusts.
• Build and baseline Windows systems to RMF/STIG requirements; remediate findings.
• Manage MECM imaging, deployment, and GPOs on closed networks.
• Patch and update air-gapped networks via offline processes (WSUS/MECM).
• Maintain Windows network services: DNS, DHCP, PKI, time sync, firewall policies.
• Automate provisioning and remediation with PowerShell and DSC.
• Support ATO processes, STIG checklists, POA&Ms, and risk assessments.
• Maintain backup and recovery and document systems.
