Job summary

The engineer will own the Windows Server lifecycle, drive automation with PowerShell and Ansible, and partner with Security and Infrastructure teams to improve reliability and compliance. A strong foundation in cloud and virtualization (AWS, Azure, VMware, Nutanix) is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Windows Server lifecycle management, patching, OS upgrades, server builds, retirements, and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and Microsoft security baselines in compliance-driven environments.
• Relevant Microsoft, cloud, automation, or security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the Windows Server platform lifecycle, including patching, OS upgrades, server builds, retirements, and vulnerability remediation.
• Define, maintain, and continuously improve processes, standards, documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Partner with system administrators to execute platform activities while maintaining governance.
• Drive automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies through PowerShell, Ansible, and other tooling.
• Maintain Windows security baselines, Group Policy standards, and platform hardening practices.
• Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to improve platform reliability, security, compliance, and supportability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to modernize the Windows platform and reduce tech debt.
• Provide technical leadership and promote knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
