Job summary

Infowave Systems is seeking a Senior Windows Platform & Automation Engineer to own the Windows Server platform lifecycle, including patching, OS upgrades, server builds, retirements, and remediation. This hybrid role is based in Holyoke, MA and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain secure, reliable production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IS/CS/Engineering/Cybersecurity.
• Hands-on experience engineering, securing, and supporting enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell, plus patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with VMware, Nutanix, AWS and Azure environments.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and Microsoft security baselines.
• Relevant Microsoft, cloud, automation, or security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the Windows Server platform lifecycle including patching, upgrades, builds, retirements, and remediation.
• Define, maintain, and improve processes, standards, documentation, and runbooks.
• Partner with system administrators to execute platform activities while maintaining governance.
• Drive automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies through PowerShell, Ansible, and other tooling.
• Maintain Windows security baselines, Group Policy standards, and platform hardening practices.
• Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to improve platform reliability, security, compliance, and supportability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to modernize the Windows platform and reduce technical debt.
• Provide technical leadership and promote knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Title : Senior Windows Platform & Automation Engineer

Required skills:

• Candidate must have hands-on experience in engineering, securing, and supporting enterprise Windows Server environments, including business-critical production systems.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell, as well as patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Windows Server across physical infrastructure, VMware and Nutanix virtual environments, and AWS- and Azure-hosted environments.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and continuously improve operational processes, technical standards, security baselines, documentation, and runbooks.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex Windows infrastructure and production issues and to communicate and collaborate effectively with infrastructure, security, and other cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
