Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Windows Server / Cloud DevOps Engineer to own Windows Server production operations in government cloud environments and lead secure, scalable cloud architectures. This onsite Washington, DC role requires hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and Ansible, with a track record of guiding incident responses and teams.

Qualifications

10+ years IT/engineering experience, with 3+ years supporting cloud engineering environments.
Strong Windows Server experience: support, patching, troubleshooting.
Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS) in a production environment.
Experience with AWS GovCloud.

Responsibilities

Own Windows Server production operations, including day-one support for mission-critical government cloud apps.
Administer, troubleshoot, patch, harden, and recover Windows Server systems.
Take ownership of Kubernetes environment (EKS) and troubleshoot production workloads.
Lead incident response activities with root-cause analysis across Windows, cloud, and container platforms.
Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud architectures across Windows and Linux systems.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation.
Design monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure availability and performance.
Enforce security best practices, including identity management and system hardening for federal environments.
Produce documentation, runbooks, and SOPs; mentor junior engineers; provide technical leadership.
