Equiliem in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Windows/Azure Infrastructure Engineer to act as a senior technical resource for enterprise Microsoft infrastructure, focusing on Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, PKI, IAM, and hybrid-cloud environments.

The role designs secure, scalable infrastructure, resolves complex issues, and supports modernization initiatives. Strong enterprise architecture experience and collaboration with customer leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive Windows infrastructure engineering or architecture.
• 6+ years of experience supporting cloud operations, engineering, or related environments.
• 3+ years of senior or lead-level experience with enterprise Windows architecture and design.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience with IAM, SSO, RBAC, federated identity, SAML, OIDC, and OAuth.
• Experience with PKI and Active Directory Certificate Services.
• Experience with PowerShell and/or another scripting language.
• Knowledge of Windows networking, including DNS, VPNs, load balancers, and related technologies.
• Familiarity with federal security frameworks and standards, including NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, CIS, and/or STIG.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and client-facing communication skills.
• Current DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification, such as Security+, GSEC, SSCP, or equivalent, required.
• Must be eligible for and successfully complete a Public Trust investigation.
• Must reside in the greater Washington, DC area.
• Must be available to provide onsite support at the client location as needed.
• Hybrid/primarily remote position with occasional onsite support in the Washington, DC area.
• Candidates must be local to the greater Washington, DC area.
• Public Trust clearance is required before starting the position.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and support enterprise Windows infrastructure and Microsoft Azure environments.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, and Windows Server issues.
• Design and maintain Active Directory Certificate Services and enterprise PKI solutions.
• Support Azure architecture, governance, RBAC, SSO, Zero Trust, and hybrid-cloud integrations.
• Configure, maintain, and upgrade Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 environments.
• Support physical and virtual server infrastructure, networking, storage, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, permissions, and file services.
• Develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools.
• Support security engineering, vulnerability remediation, CIS/STIG hardening, and federal compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Manage technical changes, incidents, and service requests through ServiceNow.
• Develop technical documentation, standard operating procedures, diagrams, technical designs, and presentations.
• Collaborate with technical teams and customer leadership on infrastructure architecture and modernization initiatives.
• Provide occasional after-hours or weekend support when required.
