Job summary

The University of Alabama in Huntsville is seeking a Windchill System Administrator to support the Army and the UAH RENEGADE Team, providing Windchill installation, configuration and upgrades.

This role requires DoD 8570/8140 compliance, STIG application, LDAP integration and robust MS SQL Server administration, plus mentoring of junior staff.

PhD or professional equivalent with 18–21 months of full-time experience is preferred; security+ certification within 90 days is expected.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or professional equivalent with 18–21 months of full-time work experience.
• 4+ years experience with Windchill PDMLink (v11.x–13.x) installation, configuration, and upgrades.
• Specialized experience managing Apache HTTP Server on Windows.
• Proficiency in MS SQL Server administration, including maintenance, performance tuning, and SQL scripting.
• Experience integrating Windchill with LDAP and tuning Java/JVM Method Server settings.
• Direct experience applying DISA STIGs to Windows Server, Apache, MS SQL Server, and Windchill layers.
• Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide Windchill system administration support to the Army and the UAH RENEGADE Team.
• Provide security and compliance management to the Windchill system team.
• Mentor more junior level staff regarding system admin and STIG compliance.
