Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Windchill Java Customization Engineer for a 100% remote US-based position. You will work on low-level Windchill customizations using Java, PTC APIs, and customization frameworks, designing services, listeners, and processors while keeping upgrade-friendly layers.

Ideal candidates have strong Java fundamentals, hands-on Windchill internals experience, and a disciplined, performance-aware engineering mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of Java development experience, with strong focus on Windchill customization.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Windchill Java API and customization frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Windchill data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
• Strong Java OO design and performance-engineering skills.
• Experience with JSP, HTML, and Windchill client-side customization.
• Hands-on experience with TAM (Type and Attribute Management).
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Oracle or SQL Server.
• Experience supporting Windchill upgrades.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java customizations within Windchill, including services and processors.
• Extend Windchill data model with custom types and attributes.
• Build JSP/HTML extensions and custom UI elements.
• Develop background processes for asynchronous Windchill tasks.
• Implement workflow expressions and robot delegates in Java.
• Optimize performance and ensure upgrade-friendly customizations.
• Lead migration of legacy customizations to modern patterns.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate requirements into Java designs.
• Provide post-go-live support and triage incidents.
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
