Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join our renewable energy team in Paarl, Western Cape. The role combines hands-on maintenance with technical oversight, mentoring junior technicians and driving reliability improvements across wind turbine systems.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of wind turbine experience, a related electrical/mechanical qualification, and strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic subsystems.

Qualificações

• Minimum of a National Diploma or Trade Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven wind turbine technician experience with maintenance and repair.
• Extensive knowledge of wind turbine systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Ability to work at heights and in challenging weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to Paarl wind farm sites.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs at heights, adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Install and commission new wind turbine components and systems.
• Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent using company-issued software.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in turbine performance and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Respond to turbine faults and emergency call-outs as required.
• Manage spare parts inventory and report any discrepancies.
