Job summary

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in the United States, Orlando, Florida, is seeking a seasoned Electrical Power Systems Engineer to develop and validate wind power grid models. You will work on MATLAB/SIMULINK-based turbine models and PSSE/PSCAD integrations, driving grid compliance and performance analyses.

The role requires 8–10 years in electrical modeling, familiarity with ERCOT/NERC/FERC, and experience across harmonic studies, load flow, dynamics, and controls.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
• 8–10 years’ experience in electrical models and grid design.
• Knowledge of ERCOT, NERC, FERC grid regulations.
• Experience with harmonic studies, load flow, dynamic stability, and transient analyses.
• Modeling of wind turbine/control systems and grid components.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical simulation wind turbine models in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
• Validate RMS (PSSE) and EMT (PSCAD) models using MATLAB/SIMULINK DLL.
• Analyze results and benchmark against reference data.
• Model wind farms for steady-state, dynamic, transient and freq-domain sims.
• Prepare reports detailing input data, results and conclusions.
• Support customer communications as grid subject matter expert.
