The role requires a decade of wildfire risk expertise, leadership, and hands-on technical skills in wildfire behavior modeling, GIS, and mitigation planning, with the ability to mentor staff and deliver technical excellence across projects in California and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Disaster Risk Management, Fire Engineering | Fire Science, Electrical Engineering | Electrical Utilities, Environmental Sciences | Engineering, Forestry, or a related field
• 10+ years of wildfire preparedness and planning, wildfire/fire behavior modeling, risk mitigation strategy development, and related areas
• Demonstrated leadership at a managerial level with cross-functional teams
• Deep technical knowledge in wildfire risk management, wildfire behavior modeling and GIS
• Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects
• Commercial acumen with experience in proposals, pursuits, client relationships, and service-line growth

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex wildfire risk mitigation projects, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder alignment
• Support growth and development of the wildfire risk mitigation service line; contribute to proposals and client relationships
• Provide mentorship and senior leadership to junior staff; foster high-quality delivery
• Conduct technical analysis of building codes, wildfire codes, and planning for compliance
• Oversee fire/wildfire behavior modeling, smoke dispersion, and risk analyses at parcel and neighborhood scales
• Develop comprehensive mitigation strategies addressing regulations, environment, and urban planning
