Job summary

FirstEnergy seeks a senior leader to own the wildfire mitigation strategy, spanning governance, analytics, regulatory strategy, and program delivery. You will drive a multi-year portfolio focused on reducing ignition risk, improving community resilience, and enabling regulatory recovery across jurisdictions.

The role requires deep expertise in wildfire risk, grid hardening, vegetation management, and PSPS protocols, with a track record of executive-level leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of leadership in investor-owned or large utilities/critical infrastructure.
• 8+ years leading cross-functional programs at scale.
• Experience designing enterprise risk mitigation and regulatory recovery.
• Expertise in wildfire risk, grid hardening, vegetation risk, or emergency management.
• Strong communication with Board-level presence; translate risk into outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Set enterprise wildfire mitigation strategy with clear goals, governance, and KPIs.
• Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, data science, field ops, regulatory and communications.
• Oversee budget, regulatory filings, and multi-jurisdictional program delivery for WMP.
