Job summary

Cumberland County is seeking a Registered Dietitian to coordinate and supervise the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor program, providing extensive nutrition assessments and counseling for high‑risk prenatal, postpartum women, infants, and children.

The role includes supervision, staff mentoring, policy development, and training, with an emphasis on community outreach and program coordination within the Public Health Department.

Qualifications

• Must hold or obtain RD licensure.
• IBCLC preferred as management criterion.
• Master's degree in Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition or Nutrition from an accredited college/university.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor program.
• Provide supervision and feedback for BFPC staff.
• Mentor BFPCs and guide complex breastfeeding cases to appropriate referrals.
• Develop nutrition care plans and perform comprehensive nutrition assessments.
• Conduct outreach to foster community awareness and collaborations.
• Provide training to staff and volunteers and document Medicaid Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
• Assist with program planning, policy development and training activities.
