Zusammenfassung

The Georgia Department of Public Health invites applications for the WIC Grant Accountant position. This role reports to the Fiscal Director of the WIC Program and oversees complex financial reporting, ledger reconciliations, and compliance, supporting management decisions.

You will coordinate with USDA/FNS, prepare monthly and year-end reports, analyze spending trends, and ensure grant funding disbursements align with regulations.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Six years of experience related to the area of assignment may substitute for a portion of education.
• CPA or CMA certification (or active progress toward completion).
• GAAP knowledge and fund accounting background, including federal grant compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros) for forecasting and trend analysis.
• Experience using Workday Enterprise Platform and strong communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Analyze financial statistics and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Apply GAAP and state/federal guidelines to establish accounts and control measures.
• Review WIC grant financials; monitor compliance and cash disbursements.
• Reconcile complex transactions and coordinate with stakeholders on financial issues.
• Present financial data in stakeholder meetings and support decision making.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for WIC.
• Analyze spending trends to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Monthly USDA grant reconciliations by Fund Source vs disbursement records.
