Job summary

Department of Public Health seeks a WIC Grant Accountant to manage complex financial reporting, ledger reconciliations, and grant compliance for the Georgia WIC program. You will oversee accounting activities, prepare monthly/quarterly/year-end reports, and support management decisions with financial analysis.

The role reports to the Fiscal Director, requires GAAP expertise, and coordination with federal and state partners.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or related field is required.
• Six years of experience in accounting or related area.
• CPA or CMA certification (or active progress toward) preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills for analysis and forecasting.
• Experience with government or public sector accounting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statistics and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Apply GAAP and state/federal guidelines to establish and classify financial records.
• Monitor and report on GA WIC federal grants and funding disbursements.
• Coordinate with USDA/FNS and other stakeholders; serve as liaison for audits.
