Job summary

ENGIE ENERGY MARKETING NA, INC. seeks a Senior Credit Advisor - Wholesale Credit in Houston to lead risk assessments for structured gas and power transactions, including PPAs, and own complex credit issues with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, 10+ years in wholesale energy credit risk, strong negotiation and leadership, and advanced Excel and Capital IQ/CubeLogic proficiency, with a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 10+ years in wholesale energy credit risk management.
• Experience evaluating complex wholesale energy transactions incl. PPAs.
• Assess counterparty creditworthiness, collateral structures and risks.
• Negotiating credit provisions in commodity or structured trans.
• Clear, commercially practical recommendations aligned with risk standards.
• Communicate complex credit matters to senior leaders.
• Mentor colleagues without direct people management.
• MS Excel and Office applications knowledge.
• Knowledge of Capital IQ or similar tool and CubeLogic familiarity.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic credit risk assessments for structured gas/power transactions including PPAs.
• Develop credit solutions balancing growth with exposure controls.
• Validate future exposure methodologies and explain results.
• Lead negotiations of credit provisions with legal and commercial teams.
• Translate growth strategy into credit execution priorities.
• Improve credit reporting and portfolio insights for leadership.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the wholesale credit team.
• Monitor market credit events and emerging portfolio risks.
