Job summary

Mason, Bruce & Girard, Inc. (MB&G) is seeking a full-time mid-level to senior Wetland Scientist to join the Environmental Services Group in the Portland area.

The role involves leading wetland determinations, delineations, and related fieldwork across Oregon and Washington, with oversight of documentation and regulatory coordination on permitting tasks. The candidate will prepare reports, support NRAs, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and agency staff to ensure compliant, timely

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or closely related natural resource field is required.
  • Professional Wetland Scientist or Wetland Professional in Training certification is preferred.
  • At least five years of wetland scientist experience in Oregon or Washington is preferred.
  • Excellent botanical identification skills in the Pacific Northwest are a plus.
  • Project management experience including scoping, budgeting, invoicing, and scheduling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support wetland delineations and related fieldwork across Oregon and Washington.
  • Prepare delineation reports, permit applications, mitigation plans, and monitoring reports.
  • Conduct NRAs and prepare associated reports per agency requirements.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and clients for permitting needs.
  • Assist with field logistics and mentor junior staff in wetland sciences.
