Job summary

T1 Energy is seeking a Senior Wet Etch Engineer to lead the development and qualification of wet chemical processes used to manufacture TOPCon solar cells at scale in Wilmer, Texas. You’ll own bath chemistry, process baselines, and inline metrology while partnering with Equipment, Metrology, and Quality teams to drive yield and efficiency improvements.

You bring 5+ years’ hands-on wet processing, strong DOE and statistics skills, and a practical, data-driven mindset for high-volume manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on wet process engineering in solar cell/semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with TOPCon or high-efficiency cell technologies.
• Strong background in wet process development, tool qualification, baselining & control plans.
• Knowledge of texturing, cleaning and etch chemistries and their impact on surface passivation.
• Proficiency with wet metrology and lifetime measurement techniques.
• Experience handling hazardous chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and own wet processes for TOPCon cell manufacturing.
• Own bath chemistry, concentration, temperature, dosing, and bath life.
• Optimize texturing, reflectance, and cleanliness to boost efficiency and lifetime.
• Qualify inline and batch wet process tools from installation to production readiness.
• Lead root cause analysis for yield excursions using first-principles approaches.
• Support 24/7 manufacturing operations through rotations and rapid response.
• Drive next-generation wet chemistry formulations and process development.
