Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in San Jose is seeking a Sr. Process Engineering Manager for Metal Deposition to lead wet chemistry lines including electroplating, electroless deposition, and wet etching on the PCB manufacturing line.

You will mentor engineers, drive process improvements, and define qualification criteria with operations. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemical/Materials Engineering with 10+ years in electrochemical processing, plus strong SPC and DOE expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Chemical or Materials Science Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years working experience in electrochemical processing.
• Experience leading engineering technicians or engineers.
• Experienced with SPC.
• Experienced in statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all wet chemistry process lines in the San Jose Sanmina PCB manufacturing line: electroplating, electroless deposition, and wet etching.
• Lead the team of process engineers for wet chemistry processing. Be a technical expert, as well as, mentor and develop engineers.
• Develop and use SPC / KPI’s to track process performance; drive continuous improvement projects
• Partner with equipment engineering to develop and document performance maintenance checklists. Define qualification requirements to be used after PM’s and down tool events.
• Understand the capabilities of the fabrication process. Source new tools, drive tool changes, and develop new processes to enhance PCB manufacturing capabilities.
• Work closely with operations to ensure that process work instructions are clear and processes are operator-friendly.
• Work collaboratively with upstream and downstream process modules to investigate defect root causes and develop solutions.
