Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Healthy Aging Coordinator to oversee 50 and Better senior programming, recruiting and guiding volunteers, and delivering engaging events to combat isolation for our senior members.

The role involves planning monthly activities, coordinating with the Healthy Living Director, and supporting volunteers while communicating with members by phone or email to build a supportive community for seniors with chronic conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1–2 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to use typical business software and office tools.
• Understanding of seniors' needs within YMCA.

Responsibilities

• Leads senior volunteer recruitment for branch; forms a Healthy Aging Volunteer Committee.
• Coordinates monthly calendar of events and classes for social interaction and activity.
• Conducts evaluations and collects feedback for group activities.
• Reports branch tracking numbers to Metro Offices as requested.
• Plans monthly social events for Silver Sneakers members (minimum 8 events).
• Inputs content for the In-Motion Newsletter by deadlines.
• Aims to meet budget, reach and volunteer engagement goals.
• Engages with RA and SS members by phone and email.
