Job summary

Chatham County, NC is seeking a dedicated coordinator to support aging adults through planning and leading fitness and social programs. You will work with an Activity Coordinator to implement crafts, day trips, and educational sessions, and assist with enrolling new participants.

You will help teach exercise classes, manage participant data in MySeniorCenter, and coordinate monthly activity calendars while ensuring high-quality services for the aging community.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with aging adults.
• Experience teaching exercise classes or leading activities for aging adults preferred.
• Fitness or group exercise certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement programs and activities with the Activity Coordinator.
• Assist with teaching and coordinating exercise classes for various skill levels.
• Utilize the MySeniorCenter software to track activity and participant data.
• Provide tours of the Center and assist with enrolling new participants.
• Conduct exercise room orientations, including use of fitness equipment.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for activities and events.
• Create a monthly activity calendar with the Center Manager.
• Assist with planning the Chatham County Senior Games and SilverArts events.
• Assist Center Manager with planning and leading evidence-based classes.
• Coordinate day trips for participants and use the department’s 14-passenger van as needed.
• Maintain Center’s designation as a “Center of Excellence” with NC Division of Aging.
