Job summary

Pleasant View Communities is seeking a Healthcare Activities Assistant to lead recreational activities for residents in a 34-bed long-term care unit. You will plan and implement programs, monitor attendance and preferences, and maintain clinical paperwork such as care plans and progress notes.

Qualified candidates may have a college degree or related certification and experience with dementia care. Excellent interpersonal skills, dignity, respect, and safety are essential for this role, which

Qualifications

College degree or activity-related certification preferred.
Desire to work with the senior population.
Dementia care experience is required.
Strong interpersonal skills with awareness for dignity, respect, compassion and safety.

Responsibilities

Implementation of recreational programs.
Monitor resident needs, preferences, and attendance.
Clinical Paperwork (care plans, assessments, progress notes).
Calendar creation/prep and implementation of structured activities for a 34 bed LTC unit.
Assist with supervision, training, and overseeing activity staff.
