Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a skilled engineer for on-site factory transformation and equipment implementation. You will improve productivity, quality, and efficiency across welding processes, with emphasis on code compliance and safe, efficient layouts.

The role requires 5+ years engineering experience in manufacturing, proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software, and knowledge of ASME/AWS/PED codes. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; practical experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Project Management, Process Automation and AutoCAD or similar design software experience
• MIG, TIG welding experience (manual and robotic).
• ASME, AWS, and PED code compliance knowledge.
• Familiarity with pressure vessel welding process.
• Ability to coach, advise and develop teammates and peers.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop processes for factory transformation projects and equipment implementation.
• Improve productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and downtime reduction.
• Provide technical/subject matter expertise and guidance for the resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems specific to welding processes.
• Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls to optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
• Be the subject matter expert for code and regulatory compliance for welding processes within the manufacturing facility.
• Uphold manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.
• Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
• Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.
