Job summary

Modine is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer to own welding processes in our plant. You will develop, qualify, and sustain welding procedures for structural steel, focusing on GMAW-P pulse welding and supporting TIG processes.

You will work with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure weld quality, reduce costs, and meet codes and customer requirements. Responsibilities include leading weld development, establishing parameters, and implementing process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Welding related field.
• 3+ years welding engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Active CWI certification required.
• Experience developing welding procedures and weld quality programs.
• Knowledge of AWS welding codes and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the facility SME for welding processes and standards.
• Develop, qualify, and maintain welding procedures and related documents.
• Lead weld process development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Support robotic and manual GMAW-P pulse welding and TIG welding.
• Establish weld parameters, fixtures, consumables, and process controls.
• Conduct root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Support product launches by reviewing weldability and manufacturability.
• Collaborate to define welding requirements and inspection criteria.
• Evaluate improvements to welding equipment, tooling, and cells.
• Coordinate installation, startup, and commissioning of welding equipment.
• Apply Lean principles to improve safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency.
