Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas, a leader in HVAC technologies, seeks a Senior Welding Engineer to drive welding process excellence and support manufacturing with expert technical guidance. The role emphasizes quality assurance, ASME compliance, and hands-on weld modification for prototypes and development tests in Staunton, VA.

The candidate will review designs, ensure weld requirements are met, work with QA and production teams, and maintain records including WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in welding engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with quality systems and NDE/NDT methods.
• 3+ years of hands-on welding experience.
• 5+ years in fabrication or manufacturing environments.
• Strong ASME BPVC Section IX knowledge and AWS codes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ASME Section IX compliance and document control.
• Perform weld sizing calculations for new or modified designs.
• Develop and review welding procedures to meet specs.
• Read drawings and interpret WPS, PQRs.
• Coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to resolve issues.
• Lead deviations and ECOs when needed.
