Job summary

Phillips 66 – Ponca City Refinery is seeking a Welder (2nd Craftsman) to perform certified welding and fabrication on carbon steel and alloy piping within a unionized refinery. You will interpret blueprints, set up SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and oxy-fuel cutting, and ensure work meets WPS and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in United States
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license
• Completion of welding apprenticeship or technical program
• Oklahoma Welder Certification card
• 3+ years of direct welding experience in structural steel and pipe welding
• Experience in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and oxy-acetylene cutting
• Ability to pass two pipe welding tests (6G and 6G GTAW) before offer

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping and related refinery equipment
• Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and weld procedures to determine job requirements
• Set up and operate SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and oxy-fuel cutting equipment per codes
• Prepare surfaces, fit-up, beveling, grinding, and alignments for welds
• Perform layout and measurement to ensure proper fit of fabricated components
• Collaborate with inspectors, planners, and supervisors to complete welds per Welding Procedure Specifications
• Support turnarounds, outages, projects, and routine maintenance, including overtime
• Use rigging to move materials safely and coordinate with other crafts
• Maintain tools and PPE; report deficiencies
• Complete weld maps, repair records, time reports, permits on time
• Participate in safety programs and follow refinery safety policies
