Job summary

Felling Trailers Inc LT in Litchfield, MN, is seeking a Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will read blueprints, set up welding processes, and perform welds to company standards.

The position requires a High School diploma and welding qualifications, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. A $2,500 hiring bonus is offered as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3 years related experience.
• Welding qualifications must be passed.
• Ability to read blueprints or detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

• Performs successfully all responsibilities of the Welder position.
• Passes all required welding qualifications.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and detailed drawings, demonstrating a thorough understanding of tolerances, critical dimensions, and functions for product applications.
• Read and interpret sales specifications to ensure alignment with provided blueprints.
• Verifies parts are built in accordance with QWI standards for other non-senior welders.
• Prepares weld surfaces as required.
• Sets up, positions and operates hand and power tools such as Gas Metal Arc and Flux Core Arc Welding equipment.
• Determines welder settings required on project.
• Verifies final welds meet the Felling weld quality standard.
• Welds prep and fit-up of steel parts.
• Welds according to all appropriate codes and procedures.
• Uses basic measuring skills.
• Performs work with almost no re-work.
• Monitors quality of weld using appropriate tools and measuring devices.
• Checks welding process to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material.
• Performs grinding, gouging, chipping operating a grinder, cutting torch, etc.
• Performs all functions safely and follows all safety standards and procedures.
• Adheres to quality standards at all times.
• Adheres to safety standards at all times.
• Improves self in any way possible to enhance job performance.
• Promotes Felling Trailers, Inc., its mission, values, programs and achievements to the public and other employees.
• Identifies organizational problems and opportunities for improvement and brings solutions and suggestions to management’s attention.
