Job summary

UNIVERSAL Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced WebSphere Administrator for an onsite role in New York, NY. The position requires 5+ years of middleware administration and strong expertise with IBM WebSphere Application Server Traditional and WebSphere Liberty.

The role involves installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of enterprise middleware, including IBM MQ and Cognos, to support HR, Benefits, Timekeeping, and Payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus four years of satisfactory full‑time experience in datacenter engineering/operations or eight years in related areas.
• 5+ years of Middleware Administration experience, specifically IBM WebSphere Application Server Traditional (tWAS) and WebSphere Liberty.
• Experience with server.xml, bootstrap.properties, and jvm.options for WebSphere Liberty.
• Experience using Git for source control and Ansible for middleware automation and deployments.
• Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD tools, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience administering middleware technologies such as IBM MQ, IBM HTTP Server, Cognos,

Responsibilities

• Provide technical administration and support for enterprise middleware infrastructure.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IBM WebSphere, IBM MQ, and Cognos components.
• Support production maintenance activities and phased rollout implementations of HR and Payroll systems.
• Maintain WebSphere Application Server Traditional and WebSphere Liberty environments on Linux/UNIX.
• Support CI/CD processes and DevOps-related middleware activities.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and document symptoms, causes, and resolutions.
