The Keller Group is seeking a Senior Web Developer in Phoenix, AZ to lead AI-enabled web experiences. You will architect WordPress builds, guide CMS strategy, and mentor the team to deliver performant, accessible digital experiences for clients.

You will collaborate with strategy, design, and content teams to shape how AI reshapes search, content, and measurement, while ensuring projects stay on scope and on time.

Senior Web Developer - AI-Forward Digital Experience Leader

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Schedule: Hybrid

Our client, a well-established and award-winning agency, is looking for a Senior Web Developer to lead the next evolution of their web and digital experience discipline. This is a rare chance to architect how a growing organization builds websites, leverages AI, and delivers digital experiences that actually move the needle for clients. The right person is equally comfortable writing and reviewing code, advising on UX and CMS strategy, and helping leadership understand how AI is reshaping search, content, and digital behavior. What You'll Own

• Lead the organization's practical application of AI across web, search, and content — including AI search readiness, answer engine optimization (AEO), generative engine optimization (GEO), and AI-readable content structuring
• Evaluate and pilot AI tools, platforms, and workflows through the lens of real client value, efficiency, and scalability
• Build frameworks and internal standards for how the organization responsibly recommends and implements AI-enabled solutions
• Educate internal teams and clients on how AI is changing search, content discovery, and digital measurement
• Serve as the senior technical lead for custom WordPress builds and CMS-driven client experiences
• Guide decisions on CMS structure, plugin architecture, integrations, accessibility, and site performance
• Oversee QA, technical troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance (including sites built by others)
• Translate business goals into digital recommendations that drive measurable outcomes: leads, conversions, engagement, and beyond
• Ensure every digital experience is fast, accessible, user-friendly, and easy for clients to manage
• Partner cross-functionally with strategy, creative, content, and media teams so digital work supports the broader marketing ecosystem
• Provide accurate technical input for estimates, proposals, and new business opportunities
• Monitor project scope, hours, and risk, flagging issues before they become bigger problems
• Mentor team members and build scalable processes so digital knowledge isn't dependent on any one person

What You Bring

• Strong experience building and leading custom WordPress websites
• Deep comfort with CMS platforms and creating client-editable digital experiences
• Solid understanding of UX, accessibility, SEO, site performance, and analytics
• Genuine curiosity and hands-on experience with AI, AI search, AEO/GEO, or emerging automation tools
• Ability to scope and estimate technical work accurately within an agency environment
• Experience improving or maintaining systems built by others
• Strong communication skills (equally comfortable with technical and non-technical audiences)
• Comfort working with distributed or offshore technical resources

Nice to Have

• Experience with Elementor or similar page-building tools
• Experience with Google Tag Manager, GA4, or Search Console
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and ADA-related site review
• Experience with email development, landing pages, or conversion optimization
• Experience building internal playbooks, standards, or scalable team processes
