Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group in Arlington, Texas is seeking a data engineer to design, build and support data pipelines and applications. You will own end-to-end data solutions using Postgres, SQL Server, and Databricks, with a focus on reliability and performance.

The role emphasizes collaborating with cross-functional teams, adhering to Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps practices, and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade software in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience administering RDS Postgres and Aurora with MS SQL Server knowledge.
• Databricks platform experience with unity catalog, notebooks and pipelines.
• 3+ years of software development experience in commercial applications.
• Experienced in Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps practices.
• Proficient with AWS, serverless, event-driven architecture, CI/CD and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and deliver high-quality code independently following INDG best practices.
• Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs.
• Diagnose and fix production issues.
• Communicate with the development lead to raise issues and anticipate barriers.
• Build enterprise applications at-scale with front-end and back-end architectures.
• Develop scalable, high availability, high performance components.
• Seek empirical evidence through proofs, tests, and external research.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
