Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape the technical direction of the MyAccount platform. You will collaborate with product, design, security, and platform teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing customer experiences across regional markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience with customer-facing web apps or platforms at scale.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, testing strategy, QA, and validation.
• Proven track record delivering reliable, scalable software and influencing architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of complex web and platform capabilities across the MyAccount ecosystem.
• Drive technical strategy and architectural alignment across teams and services.
• Develop web apps using Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript where appropriate.
• Design APIs that enable core business capabilities and platform evolution.
• Translate business goals into pragmatic technical plans and roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization.
