Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer within the Wearables team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will own reliability engineering across wearable devices, including smart eyewear and AR wearables, addressing mechanical, optical, electrical, and environmental challenges.

You will develop reliability strategies from concept to mass production, working with multi-disciplinary teams to drive design-for-reliability improvements throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Define reliability test specifications across mechanical, optical, electrical and environmental domains.
• Collaborate with industrial design, mechanical, electrical, optical and manufacturing teams to drive design mitigations before tooling and production.
• Lead hands-on design of experiments (DOEs) to characterize critical failure mechanisms and establish design parameter windows.
• Perform reliability prediction and modeling translating test data and field returns into failure-rate estimates and actionable design guidance.
• Develop and validate accelerated life test profiles reflecting real-world wearable usage patterns.
• Define critical-to-reliability parameters, process controls, and production screening for wearable components.
