Job summary

ARA’s Test Technology Division (ARA-TTD) Hard Target Mechanics group seeks a Principal Investigator/Test Lead to head penetrating weapons test programs and build a lasting career within ARA. Lead interdisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists, plan field tests at White Sands Missile Range or other CONUS sites, manage schedules and budgets, analyze data, and present results to customers.

US citizen with ability to obtain a DoD clearance and engineering degree required; 7–9 years BS, 5–7 MS,

Qualifications

• US citizen capable of obtaining a DoD security clearance.
• Experience leading field test programs or other operational programs.
• Technical leadership and program management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead penetrating weapons experiments at WSMR, Kirtland AFB, or other CONUS sites.
• Coordinate test event preparation, execution, data collection and post-test documentation.
• Analyze data and develop applied solutions for complex technical problems.
• Author technical reports and briefings for customers.
• Represent ARA as the prime customer contact on projects.
• Lead collaboration within the test team and across groups.
• Manage project scheduling and budgeting for test events.
• Participate in business development to expand scope of work.

Education

B.S. in Mechanical/Civil Engineering

B.S. in Physics or hard science with applied engineering

M.S. in engineering

Ph.D. in engineering/science
