Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) is seeking a part-time Weapons Subject Matter Expert (metallurgical data analyst) for the Gas Transfer/Surveillance Systems at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. The role supports the Gas Transfer Systems Group (Q-7) in design, development, production liaison, surveillance, and stewardship of gas transfer systems for LANL nuclear packages.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years metallurgical experience is required.
• Experience working with DOE or DOD and weapons is required.
• US citizen and DOE Q clearance required; Real ID driver’s license required for badging.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Active DOE Q clearance or recently active clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide data analysis to manufacturing and engineering to drive data‑driven decisions for gas transfer mission objectives.
• Develop technical knowledge of gas transfer system engineering for data validation and verification of manufacturing approaches.
• Develop new methods and capabilities for reporting and analyses to enable production objectives.
• Coordinate with personnel to support production issues across projects.
• Research, review, and comprehend historical technical procedures as needed.
• Adhere to safety and security requirements for working in Hazard Category 2 nuclear facilities.
