Job summary

Shield AI seeks a senior engineer to specialize in weapons and payload integration for aircraft, following MIL-STD-1289. You will design pylons, fittings, and integration fixtures, and work with cross-functional teams to drive design reviews and test activities.

You will lead ground and flight test support and act as the primary expert on weapons integration for the X Bat platform, requiring independence and strong collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 10+ years in mechanical or mechanism design.
• Experience with weapon integration components and pylons.
• Familiarity with BRA/BRU and LAU launcher assemblies.
• Knowledge of pneumatic power systems for military aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Integrate weapons and payloads with aircraft using MIL-STD-1289 guidance.
• Collaborate with aircraft design teams on mechanical integration.
• Design pylons and fittings; support design reviews and tests.
• Assist in ground and flight test activities and report outcomes.
• Serve as go-to expert for weapons/payloads integration on X Bat.
