Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a hands-on Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to lead weapons and payload integration on our aircraft, applying MIL-STD-1289 to design pylons, stores bays, and external pylons.

You will collaborate with aircraft design teams to perform mechanical integration, support ground and flight tests, and participate in design reviews as the go-to expert for weapons/payload integration across the X Bat program.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD skills, NX preferred.
• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.
• 10+ years in mechanical or mechanism design.
• Familiarity with BRA/BRU and LAU components.
• Knowledge of pneumatic power systems for military aircraft.
• Experience designing suspension and release fixtures and fittings.
• Experience with weapon pylons and integration.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
• Proven integrity and teamwork; S//SAR clearance desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with aircraft design teams to perform mechanical weapons integration.
• Design pylons and fittings for weapon integration.
• Iterate designs with analysis teams and support design reviews.
• Support integration and test efforts, including ground and flight tests.
• Serve as the go-to expert on weapons and payloads integration for X Bat.
