Shield AI seeks a Senior Staff Engineer, Weapons Integration to own the architecture and integration of weapons mission critical subsystems for an autonomous aircraft.

You will lead requirements, performance budgets, and interfaces, guiding hardware and software choices while ensuring safety, airworthiness, and compliance through verification and flight testing. Strong leadership and clear technical communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in aerospace/defense with at least 5 years in weapons or complex mission systems.
• Strong ownership of mission system architectures and associated requirements, budgets, and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, requirements development and allocation across subsystems and vehicle-level objectives.
• Lead system of systems analyses, trade studies, and architecture decisions with cross-functional teams.
• Define integration campaigns and verification strategies from lab tests to fielding, ensuring compliance.
• mentor engineers and oversee design reviews, risk management, and configuration control.
