Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking a Senior Weapon Systems Engineer in Laurel, MD. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math or Physics.
• 5+ years of professional experience in analysis, design trades, and studies of interceptors or simulations.
• Experience with MBSE and SysML tools like Cameo EA is desired.
• Experience with systems-of-systems simulation frameworks like AFSIM, EADSIM is desired.
• Strong communication skills to interact with sponsors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate mission effectiveness of interceptor systems and adapt to evolving threats.
• Identify limiting factors to systems-of-systems performance and propose enhancements.
• Develop MBSE-based requirements and evaluation criteria for interceptor designs.
• Present key findings to government sponsors such as the U.S. Navy and MDA.
• Serve as a technical authority and mentor junior staff.
