Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Waterfront / Marine Engineering Senior Project Manager to join its collaborative team in New York City or Melville, Long Island. This role leads client engagement, staff training, and project leadership, applying waterfront/marine engineering expertise to analyze and design structures, and oversee permit applications and technical reports.

You will collaborate with multiple disciplines on both private development and public waterfront

Qualifications

• 10+ years of waterfront/marine experience
• NY/NYC professional engineer licensure or reciprocity
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical engineering
• Proven experience in preparing technical reports, specs and construction plans
• Demonstrated project management including proposals, client management, and mentoring staff
• Strong knowledge of codes and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software
• Entrepreneurial and professional demeanor with strong communication skills
• Ability to develop new business opportunities while managing workload

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex structural and geotechnical analyses
• Design waterfront structures (bulkheads, seawalls, etc.) and oversee permit applications
• Prepare technical documents and construction drawings; review related correspondence
• Lead field investigations and engineering observations during construction
• Manage multiple projects within budgets and schedules
• Prepare proposals, change orders, and manage client invoices
• Lead and mentor two to five staff engineers
• Perform additional duties as requested
